Living Places is an innovative approach by VELUX and EFFEKT to home construction that benefits both people and the planet. Living Places’ principles prioritise minimal environmental impact and promote a harmonious balance between human living spaces and our resources.

This book shares the methodology and insights to inspire a transformative shift towards healthier, more sustainable homes. It introduces the initiative’s holistic framework, which aspires to influence the housing sector by assessing prototypes and integrating valuable knowledge into the construction industry at large.

Living Places Copenhagen has received multiple awards, such as the Bo Bedre’ Design Award 2023 in the Innovation Category and the MIPIM Award 2024 in the category of Best Residential Project. In November 2024, Living Places Copenhagen won the Danish Design Award 2024, which recognized the project as a lighthouse for the future of building design.
