Forming Welfare
Forming Welfare explores the relationship between architecture and the welfare state. Both architecture and welfare are based on the desire to provide a good life for the community and the individual. The book focuses on the Nordic countries' long tradition of welfare design and how architecture, space, planning, and design can contribute to present and future welfare. The articles in this anthology examine the developments in Danish society and their current and historical implications, but the observations and questions that emerge from the intersection between welfare and welfare forms are universal. It provides a comprehensive view of how architecture and design can contribute to creating a welfare society and how it can help address the challenges we are facing today. The publication aims to explore the potential of architecture and design to help support the welfare state by providing better living conditions, promoting social inclusion, and addressing environmental issues.
